We are committed to protecting privacy of our members. No member information will be disclosed to any person or agency without the member’s express written permission. The membership directory stores professional information about its members that typically includes office and home address, telephone numbers and email addresses. Although TIPS Members are able to view this information about other members through the website, no other persons except the webmaster and administrators will be able to view this information.
Any personal information collected from participants in continuing education activities we sponsor will not be shared with any third party.
There are a few ways in which we collect data concerning your participation in learning activities at symposium. When you complete an activity, we will ask you to provide additional information if you want continuing education documentation of your participation in this activity: full name, degree, specialty, postal address and telephone number. This makes it possible for us to store a record of your participation in an electronic database, and it allows us to print a certificate. It also makes it possible for us retrieve your account information should you need to access your certificate.
We also collect aggregate data related to participant responses to CME evaluation questions as well as responses to user surveys. (Completion of a post activity survey is required of those seeking CE credit documentation). This information is only used to assess the effectiveness of the program and to identify and guide potential enhancements to the program and does not contain any identifiable personal data. We also count "visits" to pages (different parts of this website) in order to learn which pages are visited most often. As with any website, we know your originating service provider, such as America Online, or referring Web link. We may utilize your "point of entry" to determine the extent to which particular external web sites or other sources refer visitors to this site.
At the end of the evaluation you will be asked if you would like to receive a limited number of CME e-mail notices, annually, concerning activities you might find of interest. From time to time you may encounter optional user surveys, which seek to help us better tailor CME resources and activities to meet the needs and interests of the members we serve.
Educational Disclaimer
